SAI's Scholarship Fund

Tax deductible
Spanish American Institute (SAI) is a  nonprofit organization dedicated to providing educational assistance to Hispanic students in Southern California.

“Spanish American Institute Scholarship"

Purpose: to provide financial assistance to deserving Latino students or students who support or advocate for Latino students.

The Spanish American Institute (SAI) was incorporated in 1909 by the Pasadena Methodist Church. In 1913, in Gardena, California, a boarding school was opened to teach vocational skills to Spanish-speaking boys. After 60 years, and serving over 4,400 young men, the school was closed and the land was sold.

Today, SAI, Long Beach, continues the mission of serving Latinos while maintaining a close partnership with the church. SAI has adapted both its structure and its programs to meet the changing needs of the Hispanic community in Southern California.

SAI currently offers college and vocational scholarships. SAI has donated over $100,000 to deserving students in the last 7 years.

SAI’s unique combination of stability and flexibility has proven successful through the years and has helped thousands of Hispanic students to REACH FOR THE STARS!
