As a mother of five children, hearing the news of yet another infant losing their life in a hot car horrified me. I asked myself…How? Why? What can be done? The search for answers prompted me to start developing a device that could easily prevent tragedies like this from happening. That device is SafeKey Seat™.


SafeKey Seat™ is a weight-activated car seat sensor and keychain fob alarm system. When the sensor is activated it works simultaneously with the keychain fob and creates a "SafeKey Net" around the device itself, which spans roughly 50 feet.  If you leave this "SafeKey Net" while the seat sensor is still activated, an alarm will immediately sound, notifying you that your child may be in danger.  

How does it work?

Safekey Seat™ is incredibly easy to use. In fact, the one-time, no tools needed installation takes less than 1 minute. Simply fasten the weight-activated SafeKey Seat™ sensor under the pad of your child's car seat and the alarm/key fob to your existing keychain and you are "SafeKeyed".  Place your child in his or her car seat, (who weighs a minimum of two pounds) and SafeKey Seat™ automatically activates. To deactivate, simply remove  your child from their car seats.


When the sensor is activated it works simultaneously with the keychain fob and creates a "SafeKey Net" around the device itself, which spans roughly 50 feet.  If you leave this "Safekey Net" while the seat sensor is still activated, an alarm will immediately notify that your child may be in danger. The Safekey Seat™ sensor takes a standard battery and will alert you before the battery has reached a low use level, and needs to be replaced (similar to a smoke detector).


I am a firm believer that everyone can make a difference, every dollar counts, even $5.00 (minimum donation gofundme requires). 

Now don't get me wrong, we would love to receive any support over $5.00 as it would expedite the process of our ultimate goal, getting SafeKey Seat™ into the hands of consumers. But also don't want to imtimdate or lose potential supporters by setting a "minimum" donation of $25.00  or more.  Hey, I get it,  I'm a mother of five, times can be tough. It "takes a village to raise a child" and $5.00 to save lives!
