Sabine Goes to Berklee in Spain

Hey everyone!  Sooo... I am starting this Go Fund Me account for my little sister Sabine Ndalamba.  Now let me tell you a little bit about my sister.  She is one of the most amazing and sweetest people I have ever met... and she also happens to be a very talented musician who got accepted to an amazing masters program in film scoring at Berklee College of Music in Spain!

(I've started this Go Fund Me account for her as she's not always one to speak up about what's going on in her life....but, don't worry, she told me she's totally cool with me doing this!!) :)

Long Story Short:  School starts this September and even though she has won a scholarship that covers a large portion of the tuition, she currently doesn't have enough money to cover the tuition costs that are due on the 1st day of classes... Even from working hard after graduation from Humber College with a BA in Jazz Guitar in June of 2012 .. the costs of going for your Masters Degree is not always cheap, which is why we're asking for help.  Basically if the tuition costs are not covered she will not be able to go and take a hold of this amazing oppurtunity and door that has opened up for her.

Some Background

Ever since we were young Sabine has always been my best friend and as long as I can remember she has always had a passion for music.  She was one of those kids that could pick up any instrument and just figure out how to play . She taught me how to play guitar and so many other cool things about music too.

I remember when she got her first guitar.  It was just a small little acoustic guitar... no special brand name or anything, but she was able to pick it up and would figure out chords and melodies and harmonies without anyone teaching her anything.  As we come from a pretty big family and only my dad was working growing up, taking music lessons was not really an option .....  But still from a young age she could tune the guitar by ear and if you sang any random note, she would be able to tell you exactly what note you were singing and somehow always got it right.  And also, this really cool rockstar named Bob Bryden was our pastor at the time and he would let Sabine and I play and sing on the worship team all the time.  I think both of us learned SO much about music from just being around adult musicians who were humble enough to let some crazy little girls jam along with them on Friday nights and Sunday mornings :)

The Goal

If you know Sabine I would encourage you to pray about giving a gift/donation to help her out with some tuition costs coming up this fall.  Even if it's only $5 .. God can totally multiply any seed that is sown :)

My goal is to raise $5000 over the next week that can go directly towards her 1st semester tuition so that she will be able to start class once she gets to Spain.

Sabine is flying out to Spain on August 31st in faith that things will work out :)
She has an on campus job lined up for when she arrives but if she doesn't reach this goal of $5000 she will not be able to start classes when she arrives.

So yea ... If you have any questions, just feel free to ask me!  And if you can't donate that's totally cool too!  If you would want to just cover her in prayer while she goes off on this adventure, that would be really amazing too!  When I was thinking about doing this I was a bit insecure, cause like my sister I often am not the one to ask for help when I need it.... sometimes because of bad experiences or because I'm a bit stubborn and think I can do it all on my own. (lol... he's working on changing my attititude)   Jesus has been teaching me lately about what it means to be a daughter instead of feeling like an orphan... and that it is OK to ask for help, and that I don't have to do everything on my own - Without Jesus, we can do nothing!! And I know that in God's Kingdom there is no lack so I'm just doing this in faith for my sister - that she will be able to go pursue her dream and keep walking into what God has planned for her life.

One of my favourtie quotes that I've heard someone once say is this:  "The things you are passionate about are not just random.  They are your calling."
