Zach Borromeo - Blue Knights 2015

Hello there! This past summer I had the privilege of marching with the Blue Knights Drum & Bugle Corps and I plan on returning for the 2015 season! For those of you that don't know that much drum corps/DCI, it's the equivalent of the NFL, but it's marching band with no woodwinds (flutes, clarinets, saxophones, etc.). Basically, a drum corps is made up of 150 people, we rehearse up to 12-16 hours a day for everyday of the summer. At the same time, we travel around the country performing/competing with other corps. We travel by bus, sleep in high school gyms, shower in locker rooms, and live out of our suitcases. We are known to be "musician-athletes" as we are put through many rigorous physical condition throughout the summer.
This past season was hands down the best summer of my life/hardest summer of my life. The kind of friendships you make and the type of emotions you feel in this activity are found nowhere else. Marching DCI was a dream I've had since I was 10 years old, and it was amazing to be able to fulfill it. It's 3 months out of the year where I get to just get away from everything and just do what I love all day.
Unfortunately, drum corps is quite an expensive activity. For this upcoming season, I need all the help I can get. I'm looking at about $2700 I need to raise myself. Last season I was barely able to slide by with the help of my parent's. This year, we are not financially ready for these fees and I am determined to march. Literally any amount will get me closer to my goal, whether it's $1000, or $10. Anything is appreciated!
