Smokey-Puppy's Medical Fundraiser

Smokey-Puppy was found almost one year ago, abandoned in the trunk of a stolen vehicle that contained meth-making materials. It was a hot summer day, with temperatures reaching over 100 degrees outside, and it's unknown how long Smokey had been inside the trunk of the vehicle.  Smokey was only weeks old, but was extremely malnourished.  He had a terrible case of worms, and was severely frightened.  The police officers working the case of the stolen vehicle gave Smokey to the tow-truck driver, Danny.  The family are animal lovers, who often take in stray or harmed animals.  Smokey was brought back to good health and was even thriving socially with his new puppy-brothers, until the unthinkable happened.  His favorite puppy-brother, Bert, was shot execution-style in the back of the head.  Sadly, Bert passed away, and that caused Smokey-Puppy to become introverted, timid, and scared.  After a few months, Smokey-Puppy started to become "alive" again, and was almost back to his puppy-self, until the unthinkable happened once again... Smokey-Puppy was shot on April 14, 2015.  One of the pellets is lodged into his spinal cord, which is putting a lot of pressure and causing him to be paralyzed from the waist down. Smokey had to drag himself approximately 300 yards back home after being shot. The Veterinarian in Grayson, Ky has referred him for surgery at the Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio.  This is the ONLY thing that can not only improve his quality of life, but to literally save his life.  We have a very small time-frame to complete this goal, so please, please help.  He was saved when he was only a few weeks old by a loving family who has took him in, cared for him, and loved him as the family member that he truly is.  They have lost their great-pyrenees, Bert to the terrible person who shot him, and they can't stand to lose another.  The Vet gave an estimate of $5,000 for the surgery. I am willing to personally pay for the travel, food, and lodging expenses for this family, but I need help raising money for the surgery itself.  Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your prayers, kind words, and financial donations.  I promise that your kindness speaks volumes.  These animals don't have the ability to help themselves, therefore it's our duty as giving, loving human beings to step-in and help when needed.  God bless!
