David's Battle Against Cancer

Donation protected
12-Year-Old David never expected to live out any other kind of young life besides one consumed of basketball, video games, and attending his favorite sporting events. He was in for a surprise when the doctor called him in for test results; expecting to receive information on a stomach cyst he’d been struggling with, the results instead revealed a diagnosis no one anticipated. His mother was told that her son has two malignant germ cell tumors enlarged in his brain and the chemotherapy sessions would have to begin immediately. We all knew the fight would be the hardest thing he’d ever have to face.

For over a year now, he’s been fighting for his life and the chance to grow up into a happy and healthy boy. The side effects of the cancer left him temporarily blind in one eye, with hourly intense migraines, loss of appetite, and red blotches appearing on his body from time to time. He has dealt with unimaginable struggles at such a young age. Months on end, he has undergone over 80 sessions of chemotherapy and continues to do so until this day. Supported by famous athletes such as Spencer Hawes and Blake Griffins as well as the entirety of the LA Kings, David was rewarded for his strength and spirit.

He recently went into surgery for a procedure called a transphenoidal resection of pituitary mass. This was to help remove 50% of both tumors and determine the extent of the disease. As many of you already guessed, the medical bills keep piling up and will continue to do so until David overcomes this battle. No child should deal with the misfortune of such hardships in their life, especially regarding their health. His mother, Lilit Mushegian, is a single mother, raising two young boys all on her own and is devastated for what her youngest son has been and will be enduring until the point of remission. We ask that you take a moment to consider David’s story and keep him in your thoughts and prayers, visualizing the brightest future for such a tremendously pure and resilient soul. And then to see if you can offer him and his family assistance with anything in your abilities to donate and contribute to his long and hard journey ahead. Any contribution would be appreciated and if you cannot financially assist, we hope that can you pass this onto friends and family who may have the ability to do so.

We remain hopeful and positive that David will survive this, as he is strong, brave, and an incredible fighter. With our support and kindness, he will progress and conquer this fight against cancer.
