Russell's Lyme Supplement Treatment

The Explanation

In the summer of 2016, Mark began going to a local Chiropractor for his gut, muscle weakness, joint pain and many more symptoms. Then in August of the same year, Mark was in a horrible car accident. Eight weeks after the crash his body was still not recovering. His chiropractor suggested it could be normal, but mentioned he might consider looking into Lyme Disease. He found a Lyme Specialist, Dr. Keith, in Fairmont, MN. After months of tests and waiting, in March of 2017 it was finally confirmed Mark did, in fact, have Lyme.

The final diagnosis was a blessing and overwhelming at the same time. We finally had answers to all of his symptoms but were faced with two treatment options. We could go the supplement route which would be a little easier on his body, but more expensive or go the antibiotic route and have it be a little "cheaper" (if there is such a thing), but would be much harder on his body.

We started out with a natural supplement regiment that Dr. Keith prescribed. It ended up being more than we could afford. Then we switched to the antibiotic route because it was covered by our insurance, but it has been a very rough go for Mark.

He's been on various antibiotics regiments for about six months. Mark has taken as many supplements as we can afford to help balance his body while on the antibiotics, but they have still been really hard on his gut. Dr. Keith has helped him diet and schedule his supplements around the antibiotics to be the most effective. However, the antibiotics continue to make him dizzy and nauseous and occasionally cause vomiting and diarrhea. He has been unable to work consistently since his car accident. His fatigue, muscle weakness, joint pain, stomach issues, and brain fog have kept him from working a full-time job, apart from our web business which he can do mostly from home.

In 2017 I (Robin) began to have allergy issues and finally sought answers in January 2018. We are hoping it is a gut issue that can be treated in a few months with diet and supplements, but Dr. Keith is concerned I may also have Lyme Disease.

To help with bills and living expenses, I began working full-time, while continuing to help maintain my part of our business. Mark is still building websites and has also started working a part-time job. The part-time job is partly because we need the money, but also to see what Mark's body is capable of handling physically, mentally and emotionally.

We have put off using a gofundme account, as neither of us has wanted to do one. It's humbling. We have also had friends and family continue to ask us how they can help. This is a huge way for those around us to help us.

The $8,000 is how much it costs for a year of supplement treatment for both Mark and I. It will allow us to use supplements which will aid in healing our bodies as a whole without being destructive, rather than using antibiotics which are super hard on bodies.

To those who have supported us with your prayers, encouragement, meals and financially, you are greatly appreciated. Thank you.

This year when we asked our kids what they wanted for Christmas all four said for daddy to feel better so he can play with us. Thank you for helping us get one step closer to their prayer.

For Your Information

Mark has compiled a list of prices of the supplements that we need. Most of them last a month or two and Mark will attempt to keep the list up-to-date when/if there are any changes. Click the link below.
