In 1847 my great grandfather TC Davis first laid eyes on the land that our farm is now on.
In the 1870s TC Davis built our farmhouse & smokehouse.
Part of the city of Yamhill sits on our original donation land claim.
The farmhouse is a huge old barn of a house (as my dad fondly likes to call it). It's in rough shape and needs foundation work and a new roof plus many other things.
The house is built entirely from tongue and groove cedar. It has a huge amount of potential and with a little money and a lot of work we can save it from falling to the ground.
We want to give the house new life as a B&B and event venue but we need to do a lot of repairs first. The foundation is bad in spots and we've been digging out and replacing pilings. So far we haven't found any bodies but you never know ;)
The house also needs a new roof in the near future.
This is where you come in - any donation will help us ensure that this piece of history stands for many years to come.
First 10 unique donations of $150 will get you a weekend in the Alice in Wonderland themed bridal suite. Must be used in Sept/Oct 2014.
Important fun stuff:
We are planning to add solar panels, a well pump to start using the old homestead well, a small wind turbine, rainwater catchment, outdoor solar showers, among other things! We'd like to take the property back to off-grid, like it started.

Here is an ORIGINAL 1870s era cedar post still doing its job after all these years. We are taking it out and putting cement in, just to be safe!

Bridal Suite still life:
Stay in our bridal suite for a $125 donation to this fundraiser. The room has a view looking over fields and the city of Yamhill and morning light floods the room with golden color. Under that particle board floor is cedar tongue & groove flooring that we will uncover once the other parts of the room are finished.
