Crossroads Rockathon

Crossroads is a “different kind of place.”  At Crossroads, it doesn’t matter what you look like, what kind of clothes you wear, what color your skin is, how cool your friends are or what school you attend. Everyone is welcome to become part of the community and to share the love of Christ. Youth Group at Crossroads is a gathering all about helping students to become aware of the presence of God in their lives and to respond to God by serving others. Each night there’s a time for reflection and a time to break into small groups where we discuss God’s Story and how it applies to our lives. Each week, through fun, food, messages, small groups and mission, Crossroads provides a safe place for students to connect with adults, with other students and with God.

What: Rockathan 2015...Teams of students from 6th-12th+ grades will rock in rocking chairs for a 12-hour period to raise money for Crossroads Youth and Young Adult Ministry. Throughout the night, there will be a Bible study, music, movies, fun, food and hopefully fitting in some sleep ! Teams are being asked to individually raise $2,000 by getting sponsors to support their team's rocking eforts.  

Why: The students and shepherds recognize that Jesus is transforming lives down at Crossroads but understand that there is an operating cost to keep the youth and young adult ministry running. This fundraiser is to help off-set the cost of Crossroads operating budget (which is just over $25,000 for 2015) so that the Youth and Young adult ministry can continue to be used by God to:

*Inspire young and young adults in the Allentown area to develop lifelong, intimate relationships with Jesus Christ
*Encourage those young and young adults to grow as active members of God's family
*Empower the young and young adults of APC to serve with such passion for God that their communities and their worlds are impacted for Christ

WHEN: Event begins at 8 PM on Friday, January 30th and concludes at 8 AM on Saturday, January 31st (yes they are rocking through the night)

WHERE: Allentown Presbyterian Church (Schulte Hall and Potter Room) - Allentown, NJ

If you are fortunate enough to be able to sponsor/donate to this worthwhile cause, please indicate your rocker's name and grade so we can keep track of funds raised by teams.

All donations are due just before event begins on January 30th. The total collected will be announced on Sunday, February 1st during worship at APC.
