Robin Williams Memorial

Donation protected
Robin Williams was undoubtedly one of the most iconic and beloved actors in history. Throughout his long and storied career he made us laugh, cry, and then laugh some more... actually a lot more. Sadly, he committed suicide on August 11, 2014 leaving a majority of the public stunned that he was gone.

In 1997 he starred in and won the Academy Award for his role in the film "Good Will Hunting". It is during that movie that a very iconic scene between he and Matt Damon take place on a park bench in Boston, Massachusetts. Within hours of his death being made public that particular bench immediately became one of several makeshift memorials to pop up across the United States.

The purpose of this campaign is to raise enough money to have that bench turned into a permanent memorial. There is currently an online petition that has over 15,000 signatures to have a statue erected on the bench. That may be too expensive to have done but at the very least we could have the bench bronzed with a memorial plaque near by stating the significance of the bench. We may be able to find someone that could do both cheaply.

IF FOR ANY REASON WE CANNOT GET PERMISSION TO DO THIS THEN ALL DONATIONS WILL BE REFUNDED

ANY EXCESS MONEY WILL BE DONATED TO A SUICIDE PREVENTION AND/OR DEPRESSION AWARENESS CHARITY

We have decided to keep the donation amounts low to hopefully attract more individual donors and thus helping to gain as much publicity as possible.

In order to maintain some accountability and build trust I am making my personal information public. I have gone through every step of the verification process so rest assured this is a legitimate campaign.
