Riverside Safety and Security Fund

Parents, family, and friends of Riverside Elementary, after the recent tragedy that happened at Stoneman Douglas only a few miles from our own school, Riverside PTO is raising funds for safety and security items for the school.  These include but are not limited to code red comfort packs, a buzzer system for front office and other security meseasures.

A Code Red Comfort Pack is a backpack with items to help the children stay calm in the event of a School Lockdown. The items that will be in these bags are a bleed control kit, chest seal, tourniquet, first aid kit, scissors, hand sanitizer, small dry erase board and marker (to communicate with students in silence), flashlight, phone power battery charger, travel size Lysol (upset tummies in close quarters), glow bracelets, lollipops (help keep little mouths quiet and busy for while), stuffed animals or stress balls (to provide snuggle to little ones or to focus nervous energy on).  We hope we never have to use it, but if we do have a Lockdown, these items would be helpful to have for your child.

We, as members of this community have the opportunity to prepare our school in the event of another unspeakable tragedy. I ask you to please help us fund Riverside Elementary School.
