In May 2011 my close friend, Scott Bell, was diagnosed with a life changing condition known as Motor Neurone Disease.

I'm sure Belly will be the first to say that since he was diagnosed the amount of support hes received from fund-raising has been phenomenal............however he needs our support now more than ever with the arrival of baby Elliott into the Bell household.

In 2013 I have set myself 3 challenges which will certainly test my recent drunk 'I am Iron Man' comments :-)

Challenge One - June 2013, Coast to Coast Bike Ride

I will be cycling the 140 miles in just TWO days starting at Whitehaven and arriving into Tynemouth on Sunday 9th June. I will be joined on this venture by Dale Crawford, Stephen O'Neill and John Taberner.

All welcome to attend the Salutation pub at the finish for a well deserved pint.

Challenge Two - Tough Mudder (Iron Man/Special Forces assault course)

This is a 12 mile assault course, designed by the special forces and is regarded as 'the toughest test on the planet' - REALLY looking forward to this......NOT.

Challenge Three - Great North Run 2013

I'm sure this will need no introduction - my personal challenge to myself is to beat my previous best time of 1:51 (this is my first and only time Ive recorded at the GNR) - I may regret this, however IF I fail to complete my goal then I shall buy everyone a pint at the finish line who has sponsored me.......... quite a statement since this comes only a few weeks after the tough mudder challenge.
