Rhaea Stinn's Trip to The World Games

Dear Friends and Family,
At the 2012 International Powerlifting Federation Open World Championships, I qualified to compete at the 2013 World Games, being held in Cali, Colombia this July. The World Games are a multi-sport event for non-Olympic sports. It is held once every four years, and is run under the patronage of the International Olympic Committee. I am the only Canadian powerlifter who has qualified to compete at two World Games. It is always a privilege to represent Canada at an international event, especially one that is attended by over 4,000 athletes from all over the world in various sports.


Powerlifting is a sport I love and excel at, but unfortunately at this time we receive no government funding, and getting to all competitions is self-funded. I'm trying to lessen the cost of getting myself and my coaches (my husband, Ryan Stinn, and brother, Ryan Fowler) by doing some fundraising leading up to the event.  Anything raised over the cost of the flights will go towards the cost of accommodations, transportation, and meals for my coaches. I would be extremely grateful for your support in helping get us there, and I will do my best to represent Canada well!
