Rio and the Rockabilly Revival Needs A New Van...

Quite simply, Rio and the Rockabilly Revival has managed to quite a lot with some pretty limited resources. We have brought the "Church of Rock N' Roll" to music lovers around the United State, as well as Europe. This has primarily been paid for with the sweat off our backs, the skin off our knuckles, and Junebug's trusty 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan. For a 7-piece band, it's a LOT to ask from any vehicle.

The currect Revival mobile

We have a lot of people for a minivan!

Junebug's minivan will not last forever. It's clocked over 100,000 miles since he bought it, and it was already 8 years old when it first joined the family. As solidly as it has performed for Rio and company, they must move on to a bigger tour van; not just for the fact that moving around 7 people and a trailer full of gear is a lot to ask from a minivan, but also for the safety of the Revival's musicians. What's more, in order to make sure we can consistently bring the highest level of performance every night while on the road and at home, we've added an 8th band member in charge of running sound and helping with behind-the-scenes issues that are necessary to pull off this kind of show. A larger vehicle also allows us to more efficiently meet our commitments to performances and our amazing fans!!

Won't start in Paw Paw on the way to a gig ...

Getting the Revival Mobile up 8 mile...

We are also working with community outreach programs and colleges in order to talk about the history of early roots rock/rockabilly/rock n' roll music and the proliferation of American music. We want to help educate people on the significance of this music, where it came from, and where it is going as it continues to thrive in new forms that still honor its history.

Rio and Junebug run the Revival as a business on a very tight budget. We have 6 people in addition to ourselves that we have committed to paying for their talents and to provide them more opportunities.  Although we have received awards and accolades for our performances and music, we do not make more money than our musicians.

Loading up a rented trailer for the gig.

Additionally, Rio and I have our daughter, Sophia, who is Autism Spectrum. Sophia is a great, and she's doing exceptionally well, but she nevertheless requires a lot of attention. The time and resources needed to help her achieve her potential are significant. Her ABA therapies alone were running around $650-$750 a WEEK! Additionally, we'd like to be able have her with us on the road when possible. She thrives with travel, new experiences, and meeting new people. We want to include those opportunities for her growth.

Rio and Junebug keep a lot of plates in the air at all times. We run the PR, create ads and posters, write the songs, write arrangements, stay up late transcribing parts for musicians, book the gigs, make special recordings, creating videos, managing the business, and we also have to learn our own parts, run rehearsals with the band, commission and pay for the merch ... And we have even bigger plans for Rio and the Rockabilly Revival on the horizon!

Possible new van goals...

As efficient as we are, we still need your help!

We've managed to stash a little bit of money, nonetheless, but we have commitments coming and need your help! We need a bigger van (and hopefully a trailer we can purchase instead of renting). We have 8 people to bring around the United States to perform for people, as well as shows in Canada and beyond coming up. Junebug's bass alone in its case stands at almost 7' high and 3 1/2' wide!

That's a big briefcase...

We don't need much, just enough to get by! Obviously if we get more than our minimum, it gives us more flexibility and can maybe help fund our trailer needs. We also have access to a mechanic friend willing to donate his time for free, so we can get by with a less-than-perfect vehicle and make it road-ready ourselves. In exchange, we are offering free spots on our guest list at future shows, free downloads and CDs, t-shirts, private performances, a spin with the band in the NEW VAN and dinner ON US the next time we are in your part of the country, EVEN a private concert for you at your home, business, party or an event of your choice!

Everything we have to bring the best live shows!

And at any level, thank you SO MUCH for your support, even if it's just wishing us well and enjoying the music. Looking forward to playing for you soon!
