Most may remember me from my Hidden Figures campaign that not only raised almost $20,000 to send over a 1000 youth to see the film, but it also inspired people to do campaigns in over 28 states in 72 cities raising over $120,000!
Since then I've been given many opportunities to attend various colleges, universities, and STEM events like speaking at the March for Science in DC and girl empowerment events like Girls Rock STEM and Generation W.
My goal has always been to explore new opportunities and continue to pay it forward for girls and bring more of us to the table where we are not represented. This summer and fall I have been offered more opportunities to attend various events locally and out of state to not only enhance my skill set but to bring that knowledge back to my city and continue to inspire, raise up and engage girls to LEAD in whatever they want to be.
Representation matters and I need your help. I'm raising funds to aid in my travel and lodging expenses to attend not only summer camps but colleges, conferences and other STEM and girls empowerment events. Just recently I've been accepted to attend YEA Camp in July. This camp is for youth who want to change the world and learn how to bring that change back to its communities and implement it. I've also been asked to visit Atlanta, San Diego, and NYC! But I need your help to get there.
My goal is to continue to learn from these events and organizations and pay it forward for other girls like me. And proceeds will go not only towards my travel expenses but to aid in other girls who want attend these same various STEM or empowerment programs all around the world. Like Kaitlyn Ludlam, who I awarded a scholarship to attend to space camp this summer.
So you see it's not just about me but it's about opening that door and bringing someone with you in hopes that they will do the same. So I hope you will support in not just my dreams but the dreams of our youth, our girls, our communities one person at a time. Like the quote says, "when you invest in a girl, you're investing in a better healthy world!" Hope you will invest in ME, in Us!!
