The South Doyle Boys Rugby Team is currently ranked 14th in the nation! We have recently been invited to participate at this year’s High School National Championships in Charlotte, North Carolina May 14th-16th. In preparation for this incredible opportunity we have scheduled several highly competitive rugby matches, all of which require some extensive travel and lodging including trips to Leesburg, Virginia and Louisville, Kentucky.
Our rugby program is completely funded by the generosity of a few local businesses combined with the hard work players and coaches continuously put into fundraising efforts. Some of these include: stadium clean up after every home football game, working carnivals and concessions, popcorn and T-Shirt sells, countless carwashes, and hours of Wal-Mart door donations. Despite the effort and energy put into fundraising; we have now outgrown our budget with these incredible opportunities that are now a reality if we can only financially afford them.
The South Doyle Rugby Club is reaching out to the entire community of South Knoxville and our entire fan base of supporters who believe in our mission. Not just to consistently compete at the highest levels high school rugby has to offer, but to use the sport as a tool to motivate the young men in our community to be successful in life as well. With your help we can give these student-athletes the opportunity of a lifetime. Not many get the opportunity to say, “I got to compete against the absolute best in the sport I love and I know exactly how I stacked up against them!” Few will ever get this kind of an opportunity; please help us make it a reality for these deserving young men and the South Knoxville community with a donation to help us reach our goal of $12,000.
