I’m Veronica, a licensed hairstylist for over twenty-five years. I was inspired to start the nonprofit organization, A/X Inspiration Hair, Inc., to provide free beauty services to cancer patients in treatment as a result of an experience with a client. One day, my client confided in me that she had cancer. I was as devastated as she was when I learned of her illness. That evening, I went home and cried. As time passed, I saw her transform from a woman with a full head of hair to a woman who was bald. Her hair loss concerned me so much that I created a wig that I knew would make her happy. I asked her to meet me at the salon because I had a surprise for her.  My client was so elated when she saw the wig that she began to cry. We both hugged and cried as we celebrated together. The wig represented more to her than hair; it represented the restoration of her beauty and many other losses due to cancer.
