Legal defense fund-VET. HOSPITAL

Donation protected
Northern Lakes Veterinary Hospital in Ashland New Hampshire was established in March of 1994.  We have been part of the small lake side community of Ashland for 21 years now.  We have supported local charities and town organizations and businesses since that time.
We have grown over the years from a one doctor facility to a 4 doctor practice during that time.  As we have grown we have expanded our facility to what it is today.
About 7 years ago a neighbor bought the property next to the Veterinary Hospital, located approximently 150 feet from the facility.  Soon after they moved there the noise complaints started.  We made every effort to be a good neighbor and address any noise complaints.  The complaints from this neighbor came on a daily basis.  The the police were called on three occasions to investigate the noise situation...... no noise was found and no fines were issued.   In the fall of 2014 we applied for a building permit to expand our Veterinary hospital. The town of Ashland granted approval and a permit was issued.  Then a cease and desist order is issued after the excavation was complete and the foundation was poured.  We abided by the order and we filed for a hearing with the planning and zoning board.  After several meetings we once again were granted reapproval and now we were forced to construct the building over this past ( LONG ) winter.  Thirty two days after our reapproval the neighbors filed an appeal to the ZBA/PB decision.  The appeal process allows for an appeal to be issued within 30 days.  The neighbors took their case to superior court and were declined a heaing and the case was remanded back to the town of Ashland.   Now I was asked to refile for planning and zoning approval as if I have never applied before.  But now my building is built and I have a signed site plan by both the ZBA/PB that granted the approval.  So I do as they ask and file for a rehearing.  I hire legal counsel and go to this meeting on 4/2/2015.   And I am denied!!!!!!!
My building is built.  I have been approved 3 times and have signed documents to prove so.  The town of Ashland will not issue an occupancy permit for my building.  They have denied my special exception that was granted in 1994 and 2014 in this past meeting!
My past 21 years of work is being jepordised.   A business of 21 years hangs in the balance.  Close to 100 town residents came to the meeting to support our hospital.  After 3.5 hours the decision came down and we were denied.  The residents of the small town are angry.  They view this as unfair and unjust.  They fear that our hospital may be forced out of their community.
I have pledged to fight this injustice,  for myself, my employees, my clients, and my town.
We are asking for your help to fund the legal battle that has probably just begun.
