Life Changing Field Trip

Hi, my name is Adam Hicks. I'm a student at Georgia State University. In my free time I have been volunteering at Hope Hill Elementary for nearly a year now. This Title 1 school, located in a challenging area of Atlanta, has been a great asset to the community. This school has some of the most amazing kids, but unfortunately, many of them haven't experienced much outside of their tough neighborhoods. They haven't been exposed to the many opportunities alloted to them through a strong education.
The 5th grade teachers at Hope Hill Elementary are planning an exciting and life changing field trip for their students. The purpose of this field trip is to expose these 5th grade students to other environments and different avenues of math and science. This trip will broaden their horizons and expose them to the many careers in Science and Technology that they may otherwise never see.
Specifically, this opportunity will grant students the opportunity to explore STEM activities, eat lunch with an astronaut, learn about astronomy and experience a real life space shuttle launch stimulation at the Kennedy Space Center. Students will also learn how mathematics and science are related in creating rolling coasters at Islands of Adventure.
With your help and fundraising, we can grant these kids an amazing opportunity. In the future, when you see these kids in top leadership positions, you can feel proud that you helped contribute to their success. The trip must be paid in full by April 20, 2015, so that will be the deadline for this campaign. Thank you so much for your support of this school that I love!
