Taking care of my really sick Dad

Donation protected
Hi. As most of the family knows my dad has been in and out of the hospital for the past 2 years. It all started with him having pnemonia. He hates going to the hospital/doctors and waits until the last momnet to go. This is what he did this time as well.

Dad was always a strong guy emotionally and physically. So he gets admitted into the hospital and they deem he is bad enough to have to stay. All us kids get worried because he is so bad one day they say he might not even make it!! Then the next that he is ok and on the mend. We went through this for months and to be honest it was a emotional rollercoaster ride.

He ended up being diagnosed with MRSA in his lungs besides the pnemonia. This was very serious and most of us believe the hospital accidentally gave him this through tubes being put into his lungs. So my poor dad had MRSA and they were giving him tons of antibiotics to battle that. They cut a round hole in his throat to help him breathe. He was having very bad episodes with his breathing to where he felt like he was suffocating and they had to put him in an induced coma for days at a time becuase he was completely freaking out. Can't blame him I would of as well.

So after many months it seemed he was getting much better and on his way to being able to be back in his own house where he belonged and a bowel blockage became so bad he had to have surgery. I don't know how they missed this... anyways he now is missing a good portion of his intestines because they got infected from the blockage and had to be cut out. Once again we were all freaking out wondering if he would be ok or not. He ended up healing up and after right at almost 1 year of being hospitalized he was ready to come home.

My uncle Terry, who is my dads brother, lives there with him and was there to help him at home to take care of him if needed be. And this should be said now that he is a GREAT guy and done a GREAT job taking care of my dad. None of us kids have been able to and we are ALL SOOO greatful of everything he has done to help our dad. So all in all dads finally at home and getting better but he still had the hole in his throat though.

Over the past year my dads been home he was hospitalized several more times due to pnemonia coming back. Each time he got better and was returned home. My uncle is kinda old like my dad. Both in their 60's pushing 70. But my uncle Terry was capable of taking care of my dad. Well here comes the problem we have now.

This last time my dad went into the hospital the pnemonia just wouldnt go away at first. Well..... they figured once the pnemonia went away from the antibiotics they would send him into a rehab home to strengthen him back up then have him back home. Well the ponemonia was a battle and they decided he now needed to be on 22 litres of oxygen a day. Plus he needed to be watched closer. So... my dads back at home and us kids(me and my 3 sisters) have decided one of us really should be there staying with my dad to help take care of him. He isnt the strong dad we all remembered. My dad is in rough shape honestly and I am afraid he might not live 6 more months. I think my sisters feel the same. Then again if one of us were taking care of him he might live 40 more years! Or so we hope. Which brings me to the problem I am having.

I have my own issues and need to have a good running vehicle that is super cheap on gas for me to be able to take care of him. I can move in with him and he wants me to.  But I am diabetic and have severe back pain and need to make a trip into flint 5 days a week for now and once I move there with him I will have to make this trip from there 5 days a week until my insurance gets switched. Then I will be traveling 26miles there  then 26 miles back from saginaw to pinconning 5 days a week. This will continue for about 6 months or so. For now that vehicle is going to have to be a motorcycle.

I bought a 750 yamaha virago for $300 I saved up from work I do online. I currently have no job because my back is completely messed up hence the reason I have to travel. My doctor told me to apply for disability but they turned me down saying I should be able to find something i can do..... But everything is a struggle finacially. I started fixing the bike hoping I would have it fixed in a few weeks. I am waiting on the carburator rebuild kits right now and just found out it leaks oil because the previous owner stripped a bolt on a clutch cover so it basically pours oil out. I can slowly save money like I been to fix this bike but  I really really should be there being the one taking care of my dad.

My Uncle needs a permanent break.  So this is why I am here on gofundme. I am hopikng that around $1000 to $2000 can be put together so I can just buy a cheap running bike that is good on gas and then move up there to take care of my dad.  Heck... with the bike I have now I might never get it running...... I just dont know. I do know it isn't going to be fixed right away......

Please help if you can. My family is broke. My sisters and me are broke. The only hope of this situation getting resolved is me getting the bike I am working on getting running... or people like yourselves donating what you can to hopefully make it so I can just buy a bike and move up there now.

If you cant help please share this where you can. Hopefully you might get this infront of someone who can help. Thanks for listening.

Rob

PS: Was going to use a picture of my dad in the hospital but he looks rough and out of respect for him I removed it and just put a picture of that bike im trying to get going. =[
