CALL FOR HELP!!!!
This past weekend in the middle of the night on Saturday evening, tragedy struck in Jackson County. Gaye Bivins-Good, her son, Zachary, and their 8 dogs were asleep in the house when the smoke detectors started blaring. Luckily, everyone (both human and pet alike) were able to get out safely before the entire house was engulfed in flames, leaving them with absolutely nothing.
The RedCross was generous enough to donate money for a few articles of clothing and a neighbor had a pop-up camper that he graciously let them set up in the front yard, but they honestly have nothing. To make matters worse, recently Gaye's father was admitted to the hospital after suffering multiple strokes and she is his primary caretaker. We are asking for people to donate to these neighbors in need. Here is a preliminary list of what they need:
-Clothes
- Women's Size 2, S-M
- Men's 32x34, L-XL
- Hygiene Products (soap, deodorant, hair dryer, curling iron, etc.)
- Anyone with an available house or barn (the dogs cannot be left unattended as some are being nursed back to health)
- A small refrigerator
-Cash and gift cards are also welcome and extremely appreciated
We would all like to think that we would be there for our friends and neighbors if and when tragedy strikes, so now we are asking, on behalf of the Bivins-Good Family, that you lend a helping hand and pay it forward.
Donations can be brought to the trailer currently outside of where the house stood, at 6053 Flagstone Drive, Jackson, MI 49201, and questions and large donations can be directed to Amanda Johnson who is also a friend of the family (517-881-9867) and works in the office of State Representative Mike Shirkey.
Thank you and God Bless
