OUR 1ST MEDICAL MISSION 2015
Donation protected
My sister and I are going on our first volunteer medical mission to support the Waves of Health in a rural area of Dominican Republic on our annual medical mission. I recently went in June of 2015 and we are going back November of 2015. This is a non-profit medical outreach organizaiton supporting missions from 2007. This area is located near the boarder of Haiti.
This is going to be our first mission. It was a beautiful experience. We will travel to multiple clinical sites in the Dominican Republic and we treat the local people who are unable to obtain medical care in their home town. Unfortuantely in areas that we travel too, medical supplies, doctors and care are not available for these deserving people. They go without the basic necessities for conditions which can be managed through our visits. Patients come into our triage where we meet them, talk to them, exam and understand their conditions. Once evaluated they meet one of our many practitioners for continued treatment, followed by our mobile pharmacy if needed. We will provide up to 6 months of medication. These visits are very few and far between since we can only get to them once or twice a year. They come in all ages; infants, children, adults and elderly who suffer everyday without our help.
We will be working long hours, long days. But it will be the most rewarding experience. To be able to help others in need. Since this is a volunteer mission everything will be paid for out of pocket, flight, room and food. It can get expensive. So I am asking all my friends and family to donate what they can and to please share this link. All the help is greatly appreciated. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.
Thank You for your help
