Mona Strawder's battle with cancer

My name is Fred Strawder,My wife Mona was diagnosed with cancer about 20 months ago. After having gone through surgery for colon cancer in july 2013. Mona has has received chemo theraphy for the last 18 months and after the most recent scan, was informed that the tumorsare still growing. Because the chemo theraphy has taken a terrible toll on her body, she was informed by her doctor that it was no longer an option. My wife was given the paperwork and information for hospice and told that when she could no longer get around by herself to sign up for hospice assistance. We have been married for 28 years and have two daughters and three grand children. One of our daughters is 16 years old and is faced with prospect of losing her mother before she can graduate from high school. I currently work as a long haul truck driver and sometimes spend weeks away from home leaving my wife to face this terrible tragedy alone. My hope is that we can raise enough money to persue other options of treatment and for me to be able to stay home long enough to find adequate employment to support my family. Everytime I leave for work I carry a terrible guilt with me for leaving my wife and 16 year old daughter at home to face this alone. I know our situation is not unique and there are many americans who share the same problem. This disease has totally blind sided us and we were not prepared for the emotional and financial hardship it has brought us.
