Help Empower Non-Tech Entrepreneurs

Donation protected
ProtoHack started from our frustration with having good ideas but not being able execute them because we have no technical background or skills. Starting a company is hard enough and not having the necessary skills to code or program detours students, business people, and entrepreneurs from living their dream.

ProtoHack is a one day event that helps non-technical entrepreneurs go from idea to a fully functioning prototype and fine tune their skills to be able to pitch to investors. We're completely self funded aside from gracious donations received by people like you reading this!

We're currently partnering with some of the biggest non-technical founders to tell their story and the importance of living your dream no matter your skill set. We'll be providing content, advice, and real world examples on how other non-technical founders started off with an idea and made it happen without having to personally code one line.

It's time to take back the mindset that you're worthless or not as good as a founder of a technology company if you can't code.

Here is a little bit about ProtoHack:

Our Mission:

ProtoHack exists to show non-coders that they can create something amazing from nothing. We empower and enable the non-technical community with the tools, knowledge and connections that will help bring their idea to life and visually communicate it through prototyping.

Why we need the money:
Currently ProtoHack is self-funded by myself, my business partner, Cole Fox, and from sponsorship dollars.

Each event costs approximately 5K to run when done on a shoestring budget and 7.5K to run fully. We've taken out debt and have self funded building the brand and all of our travel expenses to all these cities because we believe in the mission.

What we plan doing with the money:
All the money raised will go to our next 6 events that are coming up. 10K is just a start and will help us get a leg up and provide better resources and tools to those who attend our hackathons.

We will also use some of the money to help jumpstart our community where those attending our conference will have a portal afterwards to gain access to free content and resources to help continue to live their dream.

10K is just the start. We plan on running fundraisers and working with foundations to become fully funded for the entire year, but your donation, whatever the size, will help jumpstart our 2015 goals.

How we got started:
We came up with this concept in May of 2014 and decided to start a community that empowered the non-technical founder by giving them resources and advice on how to start their own company and then seek out technical advice.

What we've done:
ProtoHack has been to 4 cities, hosted 5 events and we are on track to host 6 more events and a large conference in San Francisco that will focus on providing extensive resources and knowledge to non-techincal founders.
