What is Project Pledge Philly?

Project Pledge Philly is an initiative to help 50 students from two Southwest community schools (J.W. Catherine Elementary and John M. Patterson Elementary) in gathering book-bags filled with school supplies for the 2018-2019 school year. Working alongside principals, deans, teachers, amongst other staff members we plan to identify and assist students who suffer from disabilities, with financial troubles and behavioral issues, and students who have exhibited academic achievement. In order to be considered for this pledge students must vow to carryout a single good deed on either a personal or community level that reflects growth, kindness, courage, respect or responsibility. Each of the qualities listed are necessary to initiate change on any platform. Help us help our community with your donations in the form of cash or supplies.

Why is this important?

Being prepared is one of the most undervalued aspects needed for academic success. Studies show that early childhood intervention programs can have longterm effects on the ideas that children maintain when approaching school. By simply helping to prepare these students not only we are augmenting levels of productivity and alertness but also their charisma to learn. Each of these students deserve a chance to reach their fullest potential and through this plan - our pledge is to help ignite the revitalization of our community beginning with the youth.

This is our pledge, what’s yours?
