The Rocky Mtn Series realizes that being a competitive snowboarder or freeskier is an expensive endeavor. We've worked hard to create one of the best experiences for snowboarders and freeskiers to participate in a sport that they love. We'd like to offer just a bit more!
Competitors must pay for their membership fees, gear & equipment, tuning supplies, coaching / program fees, contest entry’s and travel. It all quickly adds up.
The Rocky Mtn Series faces similar expenses in order to deliver the high quality venues that you’ve all come to expect. Resort fees, staff, lodging, equipment sanctioning fees and prizes eat up pretty much all of the revenue generated from the registration fees collected.
In order to offer competitors a cash prize purse, we could raise entry fees to the contests but that would just add more of a burden to the skiers & riders, something that we just do not want to do.
So we’ve come up with a solution that offers a fair cash prize purse to snowboarders / freeskiers of both genders and will Crowd Fund to make this dream come true.
The payout is based upon the number of competitors that participate in the discipline shown in the graph below. Cash prizes will be awarded to the overall snowboard and freeskiers Open Class Champion in Slopestyle, Halfpipe, Boarder/Skiercross & Alpine (GS).
The prize purse payout will be determined by:
• Best 3 out of 4 Slopestyle
• Best 2 out of 3 Halfpipe
• Best 4 out of 6 Boarder / Skier Cross
• Best 2 out of 3 Alpine (GS)
Please give generously. The next big show is only 4 years away in South Korea and we'd like to continue to do our part to insure that Rocky Mountain Series athletes will again represent the United States at the 23rd Winter Olympic Games.
