We need your help to get to Ireland in April 2016!
We will be touring the west coast of Ireland for one week, participating in sessions and performing at secondary schools, colleges, churches, and pubs in Donegal, Sligo, Clare, Limerick, Cork and Kerry counties. Your donations will help cover additional expenses in addition to contributions by each member.

Background:
The Young Tradition Touring Group is a group of players, singers and dancers who focus on learning and performing traditional music and dance repertoire over the course of a 9-month, September through May session, culminating in an April performance tour. Group members, ages 12-20, learn from and are supported by an Artistic Director (Pete Sutherland in 2015/16) and guest musicians (Pascal Gemme, Andrea Beaton, Andre Brunet) and dancers/dance leaders (Mary Wesley, Kristin Bolton). In addition, they will have opportunities for musical exchanges with other young musicians and dancers while on the performance tour. In the past, the touring group has traveled to Cape Breton, the Catskills in New York State, and to Northumberland and Scotland.
Members, their families and friends attend rehearsals, contribute to fundraising projects and participate in the performance tour. Rehearsals are held at the Elley-Long Music Center in Colchester, home of the Vermont Youth Orchestra. Additional performance opportunities are scheduled from December through May. Members are not only from Vermont! Quebec, Massachusetts and Maine are also represented in the current group. There are no entry, membership or participant fees other than contributions associated with the April performance tour.
