Babycat & Puppydog Fundraiser

Glynis lives in Sydney’s Northern Beaches, she absolutely love cats, so much, that her entire life has been re-arranged to care for them. She is the owner of Babycat & Puppydog Rescue, a smalll rescue centre run from her home.

An average week for Glynis, involves her driving out to various council pounds and saving cats / kittens that are on death row. Quite often she will look after over 15 kittens at one time. Her house in Mona Vale is full of kittens and cats, they have taken over her living room, kitchen and balcony. Glynis looks after them full time, with the help of one volunteer coming in two times a week.

Her rescue, Babycat and Puppydog Rescue isn’t very well known and she will get the occasional adoption through word of mouth or through her FB Page. She uses her own money to provide the cats quality food (not just biscuits, but fresh meat), kitty litter, toys to play with, electric blankets in Winter and much more.

She spends the most of her money on all of the cats medical bills. When she rescues the kitten from death row, majority of the time she has to vaccine, de-sex, de-worm and micro-chip them before she is able to sell them to a new home. As you can imagine, these bills all add up. They add up so much, that she had to take $10,000 out of her own mortgage to cover the costs.

When asked if we could help her out with fundraising, she was very appreciative and asked that we just encourage people to donate funds directly to the vet (Petstock Brookvale) – as they have helped her out a lot.

Just this week, Glynis has rescued more kittens from death row, including one with a broken leg which will need to go into surgery (costing $1,500 out of her own wallet). She doesn’t think twice about this cost however, and works out a way to cover it. The cats health is her priority.

Our ideal fundraiser aim, would be covering all of her vet costs and raising enough money to provide her with an outdoor cat enclosure. Wouldn’t it be lovely for Glynis to be able to have her own living room again?

She is a silent achiever and deserves to be recognised for her success, without her loving heart – a lot of kittens / cats wouldn't of found fur-ever homes to date.

Lets give back to those who give so much.
