Polars operation

Polar turns 2 yrs on the 8th October , so still a baby.
on the 28th Aug we noticed him limping. I called the vets and got him an appointment
after being reassured by the vets it was more than likely ligament damage we brought him home given him the pain killers. After a few days no improvement so I took him back to which the vet said he seems to be quite lame so recommend complete cage rest and the painkillers for two weeks
Polar seemed to get worse after a week and a half I called the vets to see if there was anything else to do which I was told I could get X-rays done but it’s doubtful anything will show up
I spoke to many cat breeders who said maybe try given him exercise for a few mins a day as ligaments can take a while to fix so I did this and he improved and I thought he was on the mend .
however Polar took a turn for the worse and Tuesday he could hardly walk ( to the point he wouldn’t walk )
so I called and booked him in for X-ray .
i got the call this afternoon to say it was bad news the X-ray has shown up a problem with both his hips
and he needs a specialist operation called bilateral femoral head and neck excision
after the operation he will live a normal happy pain free life
unfortunately polar isn’t insured
i paid the £245 on my credit card for the X-ray however the operation is going to be in the thousands ( will update tomorrow after I have the quote)
without this operation polar will get worse and be in so much pain which we can’t bear the thought of
so I have set up this page In hope all you kind lovely people will help save my polar as there is no way I can afford the operation which will mean he is put to sleep as he will not get better without it.
so please give what you can to get polar the medical help he so desperately needs
polar is loved so much and our hearts are breaking knowing the pain he is in
and I’m so worried we will have to end his life due to lack of money which the children will be devestated.
please find it in your heart to help no matter how small , this will make a big difference to Polars future
