Please join us in making a difference. An unforgiving strain of parvo-virus, an emerging strain of a respiratory virus and now the threat of distemper in the locality, SOS - Save Oroklini’s Stray dogs Cyprus is desperate for funds to build an isolation facility at the municipal pound which they run. So many young and beautiful lives have been lost in the past few months. Time is against them to raise funds to complete this project as the absence of the isolation facility has meant they have reluctantly had to close the pound to new arrivals.
They have to keep the dogs already in the pound safe from the ravages of these diseases and provide a safe place for puppies that are too young to be vaccinated, and isolate new strays to the pound and those that have been abandoned outside by locals. A dedicated team of unpaid volunteers go to the pound twice a day to clean, walk and feed the dogs. They have the backing of the local mayor and council and now need to raise the funds to complete the build. This cannot be done without your help.
Preliminary works have already been started and a further $5000 euros (£4450) is needed to finish the project. We ask our supporters to please donate, we would love to raise at least half of the total amount required (£2225). Both SOS - Save Oroklini’s Stray dogs Cyprus and K-9 Angels are run by volunteers and all the funds raised will go towards building an Isolation facility.
