I'm a songwriter and a successful jingle writer. Since 1978 I was front man and co-founder of a successful regional country rock band, recording original music, and opening shows for the likes of Conway Twitty, Mickey Gilley, Buck Owens, and many more. I've been in the music industry most all of my life. Along with being performer, I also was a songwriter and jingle writer, producer and project manager for Sweetwater Studios, in Fort Wayne, IN. for 13 years, owned my own audio video production company for 3 years, managed Christian Radio for 7 years, and now have my own production and brand consultant company, working with radio and TV stations around the United States.
So, you ask, "Who is Buddy, and why are you looking for him?" Buddy is what I was called by my parents and family, since I carried the same name as my dad, Banner F. Kidd the senior. Buddy has been set aside, and even hidden away for many years. I've lost track of him, and who he is. He needs to be brought out in to the light of day and heard from.
"Finding Buddy" is a project I began several years ago, that is now, finally taking shape. It's an autobiography that focuses on my life and how I was effected; being a victim of sexual molestation, an insecure home life, and the trauma of not having a home for some time, before finally moving permanantly to Kendallville, IN, from Little Mud Creek, in the hills of East Kentucky. My whole life was turned upside down, and this book is the story of coming to terms with it all. It is my hope that my children, family, friends, and all who read it will come to know me better, and maybe it will help each of them along the way of their own lives and the struggles they face.
I am raising funds for publication and distribution. I have an EP of songs already recorded to go along with the book. I have the means of recording an audio book version on my own. I will need mastering and replication, and I want a print version of the book. That is the reason for the fundraising.
