OrCam Glasses for Rachel

My Daughter Rachel has been without vision for most of her life. She was born with Cataracts and Glaucoma. She has had multiple surgeries but will never regain her vision. She also developed corneal ulcers and her retinas have detached. The things we take for granted in our daily lives, she has never experienced and struggles with on a daily basis. Simple things like picking out a can of soup at the grocery store or from your own cupboard,, Rachel has no way of knowing if its soup,, a can of mushrooms or even cat food. Looking in your closet and picking out that blue shirt,,  Rachel cannot tell what is what and relies on us to help her co-ordinate each day. The freedom to choose your own food at a restaurant by looking at a menu.. These are just a few things that Rachel has not been able to do for herself without vision.  
I wish you knew her as we do. Rachel is kind and gentle. She never complains and always has a smile or giggle. She rarely asks for anything. One Christmas her only request was simply a windchime. This year we are making a Christmas wish for her.
There is now a new product out there called OrCam. This piece of technology will change Rachel's life and give her some of the independence we take for granted. It is a device that clips to a pair of glasses with an earbud that relays information to her. It will read labels, menus, and any print to her that she touches. It also has Brand recognition. It will tell her the colors of things she touches. It also has programmable face recognition so she will know who is with her without having to rely on voices of her friends and family. It will open up a whole new world for her. 
This device is extremely expensive and after alot of talking with all of our support contacts, we have decided to try and raise the money through GoFund me in hopes that we can give Rachel the chance to have some independence and "sight"
