HELP FRIDAH  MONAH TAKE UP A CHANCE TO STUDY IN AMERICA

Having a disability from childhood is a lifestyle that has come with mixed experiences, at some point I find the challenges to be overwhelming and at some other time I find that opportunities are so amazing. One thing that makes life worth living is focssing on the prize, the journey may be tough but the goal is the determinant. I have found life to be a journey worth travelling despite the tough experiences that I have learnt to call normal. But I have always put it in mind that life is what I make out of it no matter what it brings my way.

I have always taken education to be a weapon that I can use to fight to win any battle in life, being a woman and having a disability means a lot to me. Education is a great tool that I have seen to be empowering, the desire to serve the society around me, the desire to live an independent life and the desire to be an example to fellow women living with disabilities are what made me to put in more efforts when I got a chance to have education since childhood.

Life has offered me an opportunity to study and now I have a B.A in social sciences. After I graduated, I have dedicated my time, energy and knowledge on doing research in the disability field, I do this and share it on my personal blog http://fridahmonah.blogspot.com/. And after doing this for some time, now I have noticed a need for more skilled research that has ignited in me the desire to carry on with my studies, and as usual life has offered me another opportunity to join a masters course at a university of my choice among a number of selected campuses in the United States at a subsidized cost. My campus of choice is Morgan State University in Maryland, I am looking forward to join them when I have raised enough money to pay my registration/admission fee, this will give me a chance to pursue a Masters of Arts in Social Work. I am therefore writing this to share with well wishers to chip in and support me to raise the amount indicated herein so as I will be able to pay for the acceptance letter from the university concerned, application fee, confirmation fee, housing and my air ticket.

I am really eager to take up this opportunity so that I be able to get an advanced education that will put me in a better position to perform better in my future service delivery. Studying in a different environment is also an added advantage because I will be able to learn a lot on how things are done there so that I borrow new ways of serving the society here at home.

Through the support of my good friend Dale Sweet who is helping me run this fundraising campaign, I therefore pose my request to any willing person to help in any little way that will enable me to get the amount requested.
