Sponsor an Operation:Tohidu Veteran

Melwood, one of the leading nonprofit organizations, will sponsor a series of 7-day retreats at the Melwood Recreation & Retreat Center in Nanjemoy, MD. Each retreat is designed to address the needs of veterans and active duty service men and women who have completed one or more tours of duty and have been formally or self-diagnosed with deployment-related trauma. This program will utilize controlled, modified exposure therapy, among other modalities to address eight PTS(d) treatment pillars. 

With the assistance of countless mentors, two chaplains and our clinical director, Operation: Tohidu incorporates education, spiritual experiences, processing of overwhelming feelings, and accultration to adaptive coping mechanisms and alternative therapies to facilitate a change in perspective. In addition, supported activities will give injured service members the physical skills, confidence, and coping strategies necessary to reintegrate back into everyday life. 

Operation: Tohidu is free to each participant, with approximately $3,750 covering airfare, local transportation, lodging, guiding/instruction, and meals.
