Get Mary to Opera in the Ozarks!

Mary Bander is a classically trained soprano from Rockwall, Texas. Bander graduated from Oklahoma City University with a Bachelors of Art Music in 2013, where she studied voice under Dr. Catherine McDaniel. Bander has performed leading roles in opera productions including La Traviata, Suor Angelica, Giulietta in Les Contes D’Hoffmann, Dido in Dido & Aeneas, and as Mother in Amahl and the Night Visitors, along with chorus roles in L’elisir D’amor, Il Pagliacci, Gallantry, Riders to the Sea, and Die Fledermaus. Bander has also successfully competed in Singer of the Year, N.A.T.S. (National Association of Teachers of Singers) as well as placing top 25 in many Classical Singer competitions across the U.S. For the past three summers, Bander has been the guest Artist in Residence at the Dr. Cole Family Summer Music Festival in Winfield, KS. She has been a soloist for several grand opening ceremonies for prestigious buildings including the Nasser Art Museum in Dallas, and the Devon Tower in Oklahoma City. 
Mary Bander is thrilled to announce that she will be attending Opera in the Ozarks this summer where she has been offered the lead role of Violetta in Verdi’s La Traviata.Opera in the Ozarks at Inspiration Point Fine Arts Colony (IPFAC) is an intensive eight-week summer training and performance program for young singers, which runs from May 21st through July 19th. Mary will have the opportunity to study, rehearse, and perform in four fully staged opera productions with orchestra. Artists are assured of growing through the 4-week intensive rehearsal process followed by the one-month performance period.
