Carl and Carrie Oddsen (pictured at far right) were the very proud parents of 12 children (9 girls and 3 boys). Those children, in turn, had children of their own: 25 to be exact (15 girls and 10 boys). The younger years were filled with much joy and laughter, especially when the families gathered at the house on South 7th Avenue in St. Charles.
Time has a way of escaping us, especially as the demands of growing up, college, jobs, raising families and tending to the rigors of our own lives has made the years race past. The “Original Oddsen 12” have passed on; unfortunately, so have some of their children.
Way too many years have passed since the last big get-together… And speaking of time, perhaps it’s time for us to renew our relationships with one another, if for no other reason than to share some of those sweet memories of days past that need to live on, and celebrate our Norwegian heritage.
And so, in an effort to help get the descendants of Carl & Carrie Oddsen together, we've started this page to help offset the costs of a planned family reunion that is scheduled to take place in August of 2016, in well-known Pottawatomie Park in St. Charles, Illinois.
