#OccupyTheNest started with Jon Finer of KSUOwlHowl.com and Michael Foster of TheGoldenParliament.com, both Kennesaw State athletics blogs. I am Nick Geter, a junior at KSU, and a huge sports fan. Jon and Mike have been gracious enough to let me partner with them in making this movement work.
We, #OccupyTheNest, are a grass-roots movement trying to improve the atmosphere at Kennesaw State University athletic events by increasing student attendance and participation. We truly believe that by creating a better atmosphere at games, we can influence our teams in a positive way. Through three basketball games, we have had a great turnout, mainly by spreading the word on Twitter, but we want to take this further.
After bouncing around a few ideas, we decided that the most effective way to grow our student section is to make T-Shirts. So here is the plan:
We want to have 100 T-Shirts made. We are going to give the first 50 away and charge $5 for the next 50. With the $250 that we raise from selling the 50 shirts, we plan to buy a giant #OccupyTheNest banner to hang up at games, as well as a couple of blow up heads of players/coaches.
Obviously, we are poor college students, so it is impractical for us to do this on our own. That is why we need you! We appreciate your considerations in donating to our cause very much. Gofundme takes 5% of donations, but the other 95% goes to the making and designing of the shirts. We have already have a price quoted, we just need the money in order to execute it.
