Our organization is the Euphrates North Country Chapter, holding a gala and asking those willing to donate to this wonderful cause. The Syrian crisis has been an ongoing battle, it has displaced and destroyed the lives of so many families.
The crisis has mainly affected women and children. While some have been able to make their way into the United States, they lack financial support to have food, clothing, and for children to attend school.
Doctor Ali, who practices here locally and is heavily involved in the support of some 5,000 refugees in Syracuse with mostly children and widows. Dr. Ali has accounted that it costs about $600 a month per child to go to school in Syracuse. Usually a family of 4 to 6 members only gets approximately $700 (+-) of total help. In order to send one child to school it means all 6 would have to go without any food or clothing for an entire month. All proceeds will go towards financial support in terms of goods (school bags, shoes, books, etc...) or cash to acquire to those that are in need.
Euphrates will be donating all of the Proceeds by midnight March 10, 2017.
The refugee crisis and the images and stories of those that have suffered has moved our institute to help. Recently at the 70th annual MEI conference, our organization watched as the leader of the White Helmets explained the horrors of this disaster. The experience encouraged our members to decide to have a Syrian Benefit Gala to try and do as much as we could to raise money for those that have suffered for so long.
It is truly a cause worth donating towards. We as the Euphrates North Country Chapter would be so extremely appreciative, if our efforts during the gala were matched and we could proactively make a difference in the lives of those we are aiming to help.
