This ongoing Dec. 1st "World AIDS Day" event was designed to serve the community and youth in North Carolina, in a fun, non-threatening environment combining the creative art forms of music, dance and poetry. This approach has proved successful in facilitating conversation on HIV/AIDS and Abstinence. During the event we also provide free testing, counseling, game education trivia, door prizes, food and condoms.
Our Mission
The mission of the My Name Is HIV Project is to spread a message of awareness, prevention, and education on the effects of HIV/AIDS to the entire human population, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, relationship status, or circumstance. We encourage testing, provide resources, and share the power of love with our "Know Your Status " campaign.
Our Goal
Our goal is to place a copy of the "Hello, My Name Is HIV" poetic message in the hands of every high school and college student and/or target audience, as well as provide educational information and product resources that can be used immediately to dispel myths and prevent the spread of this deadly disease.
How You Can Help Our Outreach
Funding is necessary to push this project forward; therefore, project organizers appreciate all donations. Sponsorship's and partnerships are also welcome. Your financial support will aid us in hosting annual free community events and more. All donations will help educate, protect, and equip the next generation with information that will prevent someone from one day having to look in the mirror and confess, "Hi, My Name Is HIV!"
