Help STELLA get her groove back

Stella got into an accident!  She needs a facelift ASAP!

Please help one of Tallahassee's most favorite food trucks get back on the road.

Rebecca Kelly, owner of Street Chef’s food truck and Catering, is one of those people who puts much of her time and heart into building our community. It is only natural for our community to gather together to support her now!

On Thursday February 26th, the Street Chef’s food truck, affectionately named Stella after Rebecca’s grandmother, was involved in a collision that left the truck severely damaged, both inside and out.  Thank goodness there were no injuries, but the damage left Street Chefs out of work and out of money to get the truck operational again. Besides the extensive exterior damage, her interior damage necessitates the replacement of much of the equipment including the generator, flat top grill, stainless steel table, hood tops, fan and fan shroud, oil cooler, radiator, drivers quarter panel, driver’s seat and driver’s side door.

Rebecca Kelly has truly changed the food and social landscape in Tallahassee.  She served as president of the Tallahassee Food Truck Association since its inception in 2011. Since that time, the food truck community has grown from about 40 trucks to 80 mobile food vendors including 30 gourmet style trucks. She was the catalyst for the opening of the downtown food truck park at 725 S. Bronough, and  is responsible for keeping  Food Truck Thursday alive after the original owner closed his business. Last year, she negotiated the move of Food Truck Thursday to its new home at Lake Ella.  Railroad Square’s, First Fridays are also rich with food choices, as a result of the growth she has fostered in the mobile food business.

Rebecca has a long history of giving back and supporting charitable, social and business networks. She co-hosted and organized the 2011 Street Food and Music Festival at Railroad Square benefitting ECHO which serves the homeless community. She regularly donates her time and food to the Capital City Youth Services drop in center and ECHO. Street Chefs was voted #1 food truck in 2013 and has been in the top 3 for several years running. In 2014 Rebecca became the first mobile food vendor to be appointed to the DBPR (Department of Business and Professional Regulation) advisory committee in its 50 year history.

Let’s all pull together to get Street Chef’s up and running and serving our tummies and community again!
