Our Friends, the Kilians

Friends of Janet, Ken, Matt and Ryan,
Many of you know that Janet Kilian, "Mrs. Kilian" to many of us, was diagnosed with brain cancer a few years ago. Despite long odds against her, she fought and continued to fight the disease off. While her fight presses on with our prayers and thoughts, it is unclear how much more fighting can be done.
Her sons, Matt and Ryan, are taking this devastating news stoically, as they always do -- looking after their dad and traveling back and forth from Schaumburg where Mrs. Kilian is staying with her sister. To help them out during this time, several friends have proposed the idea of trying to take up a collection for the Kilian family.
The idea is a good one, and we hope that you will help. Whether you remember Mrs. Kilian through Matt and Ryan, or her husband Ken, from St. Juliana's or Notre Dame High School, or just from being around Brooks Park, Mrs. Kilian played a big role in many of our lives. Matt and Ryan even more so.
Anything you can contribute would be appreciated. For those of you who can help, I will have a card to sign and will collect whatever you can give. If you cannot, please help me in spreading the word. We want as many names on the card as we can muster, so please do not donate anonymously.
