Hi, my name is Ed Isaacson and for the past 4 years I've owned and ran NBADraftBlog.com. The site has provided a tremendous resource to fans, players, and teams, not only in the United States, but in many countries around the world.
Over the last 2 years, the quality of the site as improved as I was able to focus on it full time, but to keep up with what people are looking for, significant improvements will need to be made, including an emphasis on producing quality video, a podcast component, and methods to make it more interactive. 1/3 of the goal amount will go towards the purchase and upgrade of equipment as needed, as well as related costs to continue to make the content on the site as fresh as possible.
The rest of the goal amount would go towards the start of a related business - a subscription scouting service and consulting business - which also allow me to continue to focus on a lot of the scouting which will go into the website. The service will go towards helping teams and agents focus their time on players who suit their needs/wants. Included in the cost of this start-up venture would be the building of a database, the acquisition of clients, including travel and related costs, and costs toward scouting the players themselves.
I've been lucky over the past few years to build a site and scouting repuatation which has opened up many opportunities, but I will need help to take it all to the next level.
