Nathan & Brenda Barn Fire Recovery

Donation protected
In the early afternoon onThursday, September 28th, my son, Nathan, was awakened to find his family's barn ablaze. This barn was built by my sister in 1969 to house our beloved horses and was passed down to my son in 2003, when he and his wife and daughter moved in to the house next door. The barn was a sanctuary for Nathan and he spent the majority of his free time there working on his cars and many other projects. Both Nathan and his wife are correctional officers for Tompkins County and calm spaces such as this are essential to their well being.

Nathan's barn contained his workshop , including 25 years of hand tools, power tools, several workbenches and toolboxes, engine stands, a generator, torches, welders, and a supply of carpentry tools. The barn also contained four vehicles; a restored 1986 Mustang, a 1973 Mercury Monteray, a 1971 Lincoln Mark III, and a 2005 Hyundai Elantra. Sadly, the hundreds of items lost are too great to be listed.

It will take years to rebuild and replace everything that was destroyed in this unfortunate accident. Any assistance you can offer, even if only kind words, would be so very appreciated by Nathan and his family.

Please accept my deepest gratitude for taking the time to read this message.
