Nathaniel’s Student Ambassador Trip
Donation protected
こんにちは、私はNateである。 会う喜び。
Let me translate that for you.
Hi, I'm Nate. Pleasure to meet you. It has been my dream since I was 9 to go to Japan and explore it's amazing history. When I turned 13, I began to teach myself Japanese. I also wanted to explore it's culture and the best way to do that would be to explore it personally. Now at the age of 14, I have found an amazing opportunity to go to Japan with a group of kids my age through an organization called People To People. They take kids on a 2 week journey through Japan so we can learn about the diverse history, culture, and language of this unique country. This trip comes with a bonus; it gives academic credit that will look great on transcripts and résumés, opening a host of opportunities for colleges and careers. In the long run, this trip benefits me in multiple ways. It gives me more knowledge about the country I want to go to and I get to learn more about the language.
Unfortunately, this trip comes with the price of $7079, which includes airfare, food, places to stay, and all the cool places we will visit. While this is actually a relatively low price for a 2 week trip to Japan, it is not possible without the support of people like you. So, I am humbly asking people to donate what they can. To kick off the donations, my father has made the first payment and I will be saving my entire allowance to contribute to this amazing opportunity. It is now up to the contributions of generous people like you to make this experience possible.
Since I am asking for so much, I don't want to make this trip all about me. So, I will be keeping my supporters informed of my experiences in Japan through a video blog. Through my blog, supporters will be able to experience such things as:
-Mount Fuji, which is Japan's largest volcano and overlooks Tokyo.
-The Floating Torii, one of the "Three Views of Japan", a shrine that appears to be floating.
Now, keep in mind that the trip will have a fascinating itinerary, which will include such interesting places as:
-Gion District of Kyoto, which is known for it's traditional Geisha artistry
-Peace Memorial Park, dedicated to the lives lost in the nuclear bombs of WWII
-Kinkaku-ji Temple, a Zen Buddhist temple covered in gold leaf
-My Host Family, where I will be learning about Japanese culture directly
I will also be providing information when I come back about Japanese food, culture, respect, and other things.
Your contribution will mean the world to me and will make this dream a reality.
ありがとう、後で会いなさい。
Thank you, see you later.
