I just realized I forgot to put an update about our P2P bon voyage party last weekend. Mom and I went to Burlington, Vermont to join my group and visit with the high school P2P group that's going to China. It was lots of fun, and Mom and I got to camp out in Shelburne, Vermont. We bought flashlights at Kmart, but the batteries were old, so we had to put everything in the tent in the dark! I learned to remember flashlights and good batteries...
I'm so excited because I found out the Jaffrey-Rindge Rotary is donating $100 scholarship for my trip! They invited me to a breakfast next week with some of the Conval High School students who already went to China and some others that are going to Greece with Ms. Mc. I feel really lucky that they wanted to support me, too!

Hey everyone! We had the Noodles for Nadia last night. It was -6 degrees outside! Lots of people were at town meetings or at the Conant game, and if I wouldn't have been at my dinner, I would've been there, too - Go Conant! So it wasn't too exciting, but we're going to have another event in April. Thanks to all the people who helped and those that got an auction item! I especially want to say Thanks to the Jaffrey American Legion and Ms. Barlow for the donation. I had a lot of fun and the food was tasty - thanks to guest chef, Xin!
Auction tomorrow! BOGO ski passes to Crotched Mt!
We've added a bunch of other things to the auction list, including 4 men's watches, Sawyer Syrup from Overview Farm, and door prizes!

I was so excited today - there is an article about me and my P2P trip to China in the Ledger Transcript (newspaper)! It's a little embarrassing because they picked out some of the silly things I said, but I'm happy they wrote about me! I hope you will read it. http://www.ledgertranscript.com/home/10885236-95/shes-china-bound
I got to help out in a really great jewelry studio today! I used to help out my Nana before with making jewelry, but I learned a lot more today and got to sort tools, do dishes, water plants, and make earrings! Thanks to Sussy-Rose for allowing me to help her! Check out her beautiful jewelry at www.sussyroseshields.com. (Maybe you'll see something I helped make!)
Yay - I did get to take care of Nick & Nora again! This time, Nora wasn't hiding inside the chair! I also got to chicken-sit their chickens! (see photos) AND I'm still working on sorting an album collection for one man. I'm almost done...Whew - he has a lot of albums! Even though I've entered about eight P2P contest since the last update, I haven't won any scholarships yet, but I'm still going to enter a few more. Wish me luck!
I did my second pet-sitting gig this weekend, this time for two cool cats - - Nick & Nora! I had to give Nora her medicine, but first I had to find her! Tip - in case you can't find your cat, look i-n-s-i-d-e the recliner... Hope I get to see these two again soon!
Happy New Year! I'm so happy that my Chinese (Mandarin) instructor sent my progress report yesterday - - I have a 99.09% on my first 11 assignments! Shei-shei for everything you're doing to support me! Happy 2014!
Just wanted to say "Thanks" to Belletetes for letting me set up my cotton candy stand! If you're in the neighborhood, make sure to stop by Belletetes! They still have lots of different kinds of shovels and great looking sleds and snow tubes!!
Last week I went to our second P2P group meeting, which was pretty fun. I like all the other students in my group, so that's good! I handed out flyers for odd jobs, and for the past two weeks, I've been sorting an album collection for one person. Yesterday, I sold maple cotton candy at another holiday fair. I put out the odd jobs flyers, and I got one job doing pet sitting, two snow shoveling jobs, and a babysitting gig! Yay! Thanks everyone!
Last week, I started taking Mandarin Chinese class on VLACS (NH online charter school)! I'm still trying to figure out how to record my answers...but it's fun!
Here's a picture of me at the holiday fair.
Yay! Besides GoFundMe, I have received some donations by others, and yesterday I sold cotton candy at a holiday fair! It was fun, but sticky...
Now $7500 is only $7230!
So far we had a group meeting on November 3rd and our next one is Dec 8. I've had to study a lot about China already and finished my Geography homework ahead of schedule! China is even more beautiful than I imagined!
Forgot to mention - - the trip is for 19 days! P2P programs are very well organized with tons of learning activities, "behind the scenes" tours, great food (usually), comfy motor coaches, and the best places to stay!
Hi! My name is Nadia. I'm 13 and in eighth grade. I love to learn about other cultures and places and have traveled to a few places. This summer (2014) I'm hoping to go to China with the People to People student ambassador program. All I need to do now is raise $7500. :) I'm trying a lot of other fundraising jobs but, every contribution will be greatly appreciated. Shei-Shei (Thank you)!
