Nadezda is an elderly woman who lives in a war torn building. She is living not only in poverty, but also in a war zone, being afraid to leave home, praying while overhead bombs are whistling by. These things make a good movie, but this is real life. Nadezda is an elderly woman who was living in Donetsk, Ukraine that is seeking your help.
Oren Dorell, a reporter for USA TODAY writes, "A region whose new leaders are at war with a government they consider illegitimate and where social services are almost non-existent." This is what Eastern Ukraine has become. But what of its people? "More than 300,000 displaced people from Eastern Ukraine have asked the United Nations for help, straining local resources. The U.N.'s refugee agency estimates their true number of displaced people is close to 1 million".
As Nadezda left her home to find shelter elsewhere, she still needs money to replace her home and to provide for herself with food and clothing as "social services are almost non-existent" Dorrell writes in his article.
As war rages on, coming up to 6 months, it is becoming harder for people to live their lives, as they have to fight for it, to survive the daily threats of cold, hunger, and war.
