I began this fundraising campaign to raise money for a new desktop computer system and online operating costs in order to maintain TheCatholicWord.com . In addition to operating cost, I need to update my software in order to utilize the current technology on the internet. Further I need to raise money for advanced education in website design and maintenance, as well as my continued education of Theology, Apologetics, and advanced Catechist training.
The Catholic Word developed from a single idea. Many people are living without the love of God; I was one of those people for 35 years. This site started as an online tool to supplement my Bible Studies, and soon developed into an evangelizing platform to bring others closer to God.
Passion of The Catholic Word
My professional passion consumes me, and I am an active evangelist today teaching RCIA, (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) or CCD (The Confraternity of Christian Doctrine) with the homeless and those in need of religious education. My continued education of Theology is teaching me new and interesting ways to evangelize and share the joy of the Lord. My personal passion has become my professional passion. Evangelizing and consoling to another person is the most rewarding gift anyone can receive. Beyond all of that, I enjoy the outdoors, camping, fishing, kayaking and just being at home.

I grew up as a cradle Catholic in Boston during the 1960’s, attending Catholic School from pre-k to High School. It was early in my childhood that I knew my career path, and like most young Catholic’s I had the notion I could do things my way. During my High School years I became disillusioned with the church. After my graduation from Catholic High School, I moved on to San Francisco, leaving Boston and the Church behind for 35 years. I completed my Master’s from the San Francisco Culinary Academy and after college I traveled abroad and throughout the United States as a chef, eventually owning my own restaurants. Still, there was still room for charity, teaching nutrition to 2nd graders and being a volunteer teaching chef for the local grocery store. But, as one would guess, God had different plans. Nerve damage from diabetes confined me to a wheelchair and it was that disability that eventually brought me back to the Church with God in my heart. After returning to the Catholic faith, I felt compelled to share the Good News of the Lord hoping to bring others back to, or directly into the Catholic faith.
The Catholic Word Today
My greatest attribute is the ability to listen. Not just to hear what troubles others may be experiencing, but to relate to their current situation in a more personal way. I was homeless myself and in need of comfort, giving me a personal connection. The people I evangelize to would say that I am friendly, honest, trustworthy, compassionate and spiritual, with the ability to apply God’s Word into everyday situations.
I live on a small monthly disability check, (Wheelchair Confinement from Nerve Damage) which funds TheCatholicWord.com , and all of the internet fees and office supplies that comes with running such a ministry.
Today I teach CCD to 1st grade students at Saint Hedwig’s in Wilmington Delaware. Further, I work with Brother Ronald Giannone, OFM Cap and Fr. Leonard Klein to formulate adult Bible Studies at Sacred Heart Oratory, and Saint Patrick’s. I work with the Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus at Emmanuel Dinning Hall serving as an evangelist to the homeless.
