SCOTT'S STROKE-LIFE HAS CHANGED

Donation protected
Scott Waits life has changed, dramatically, forever. Scott is ONLY 48 yrs old.

On April 30th 2014, Scott had open heart surgery, which at the time was totally unexpected, it was discovered that he needed surgery during what suppose to be a routine yearly physical examination.

A few months later, he got kidney stones in both kidneys, he had to be taken off of blood thinners to correct the kidney stone problem, and i personally believe that is where this began.

On the morning of Jan 26, 2015 Scott was stricken down with an ISCHEMIC STROKE.

Luckily, Scott has an extremely caring and supportive employer. And they knew when he did not show for work that morning at 8:00am, that something had to be amiss, because Scott was always on time.  His boss and co-workers got immediately concerned.  2 people from his job were sent to check on him at home. They arrived and got no response from knocking on the door, so they called the police for a welfare check. And it is by the grace of GOD that they did...

Scott was found on the floor in his bathroom, pretty much unconscious.

Scott works for Crest Foods, a place he has called home since he was 16 yrs old.  A total of 28 years. It's his home away from home.  And the overall outpouring of support from workers there, both past and present, has been nothing short of amazing.

Scott survived but is forever changed. Life will never be the same for Scott. There will be too many challenges to count lying ahead. He was paralyzed on his left side completely. But thank God above he has came out of this ordeal still able to speak and able to use his mind. He is as I speak now in a rehabilitation hospital.

Scott is not married nor has he had any children. He considers his 2 rottweilers , THOR and MAX, to be his children.  And Scott misses them both daily and cannot see them til he makes it home. Likewise, the dogs have had their world turned upside down as well, and cannot grasp at all why their beloved owner has left them. It is absolutley heartwrenching.

Scott has dealt with pneumonia, depression, fear, and loneliness at times, as well as not being able to walk or even being able to take himself to the restroom.

He has recently been cleared to drink some liquids. He has to have everything thickened since this all started, because the stroke damaged his throat and esophageal muscles. This is what really sucks, because he was drinking 8 bottles of water a day to fend off further kidney stones, and now those recurring has become another constant worry for him. Still we believe each day he is making some kind of progress, no matter how small it may seem at the time.

God willing he will walk again. Scott needs help badly with making ends meet and getting the things he needs to make life bearable. So many needs and no funds, his savings have been totally depleted. Scott will need changes to his small house to be handicap-accessible for him. He'll need a ramp, handrails, sitting shower tub, hospital bed, wheelchair, electric scooter and much more.  The doctors have already said he would be looking at him needing 24-hr constant care upon his release.

Scott has done so much to help so many people. Please be so kind as to give from your heart, and send Scott all the prayers you can muster. It's our turn to show Scott that we all care. Thank you in advance for your generosity and support in this time of need. No donation is too small. May GOD bless each and everyone of you who will help and have helped others in the past with your prayers and financial offerings.

God bless all.
Thank you, so very much.
Sincerely, Scott's family
