Deysi Fonseca Music Notes for Hope

Deysi Gonzalez Bressler Fonseca Bordón passed away peacefully among her family and friends on Sunday, June 12 in her home. She had been fighting a long battle with ovarian cancer; she was diagnosed in 2012.
In New York City, Deysi was a piano teacher and teacher’s assistant in the New York Public Schools. She graduated from Hunter College in 1984 with a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in teaching. Deysi was a beloved teacher and piano performer, performing at recitals at Carnegie Hall among others. She retired in 2004.
Deysi loved dancing and playing the piano. Deysi was passionate teacher who loved working with children and students. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Deysi Fonseca Music Notes for Hope fund, that will fund a student’s studies in music. Deysi would have loved being able to provide an opportunity for students with a passion for music.
