Hello Friends and Family,
Vima Lupwa Homes is an organization that I have been involved with for nearly 10 years. It started when I first met my dear friend Malerie Pratt. She is a phenomenal woman who I lived with in Italy. After she left Italy, she went to Zambia where she saw a desperate need for housing for children. It became clear that she must do something. Partnering with Marlena Bellavia in Bend, the two successfully raised enough capital to open and sustain an orphanage.
The home is built around a family dynamic where sustainability is key to the growth of community. The children grow crops, raise chickens and goats, pump water, repair bikes for supplies and do several other self sustaining activities. The organization is non-denominational. The goal is to help these children to become active participants in improving the community and starting their own projects in the area.
The organization is at a crucial point where they need to grow with a second home. That is where we come in!
That Matin Real Estate Group has committed to help Vima Lupwa Homes build a second orphanage in Zambia. This home will house 12 children in desperate need, and improve on the systems and structure of the first home. We need your help. In order to build a second home, we need to raise $25,000. We currently have raised $7,000. So this year we need $18,000 to build the home. It is a big goal, and we know we can do it with your donations. No donation is to small, and every bit gets us closer to our goal.
Please give what you can, and spread this donation link as many times as you are able. You will be changing the lives of some terrific kids.
As we progress, we will keep everyone up-to-date on our goal and what we are doing. The Matin Real Estate Group is giving a percentage of each home sold in 2016, will be focusing their Bi- Annual Client Appreciation Parties around the Goal and will be marketing to our friends, families and clients to make this goal a reality.
